PastPrint is committed to historical accuracy, source transparency, and editorial integrity. These are the standards every article in our archive is held to.
Source Requirements
Every article is grounded in primary source material from the Library of Congress Chronicling America newspaper archive. We prefer contemporary reporting from the date the event occurred. Every article cites its sources with direct permalinks back to the original scanned newspaper pages.
Factual Verification
Key facts in each article are cross-checked against independent sources. We do not publish claims supported by only a single uncorroborated source. When historical accounts conflict, we note the disagreement rather than picking one version arbitrarily.
Attribution
Direct quotes from contemporary newspapers are kept short, placed in quotation marks, and attributed to the specific source. Paraphrased information from sources is clearly tied to the source in context.
No Fabrication
We do not fabricate quotes, statistics, witness accounts, or any historical details. Every specific fact in a PastPrint article comes from a verifiable source.
Corrections Policy
If you identify a factual error in any article, please report it to info@pastprint.com with the article URL, the specific claim, and your supporting source. We investigate every correction request and update articles with a transparent correction notice when warranted.
Editorial Independence
PastPrint does not accept payment for editorial coverage, sponsored articles, link insertions, or guest posts. Editorial decisions are made independently of any commercial considerations.
